How the ExoRank Score works
Each criterion receives a score from 0 to 10. The published product score is the sum of every criterion score multiplied by its weight, divided by 100 and rounded to one decimal place. The stars visualize that same result; they are not customer-review stars.
Evidence confidence remains a separate label. A product can have promising specifications but only medium confidence when comparable field or ownership evidence is incomplete. Scores are recalculated only when material product, market, safety, ownership or field evidence changes.
Scoring bands and evidence caps

- Missing required evidence: the affected criterion cannot score above 6.9 until the field is resolved.
- Manufacturer-only behavior claim: assistance, endurance or wearability cannot score in the 9.0 band without sufficiently comparable field evidence.
- Unresolved safety signal: recommendation eligibility is suspended regardless of the arithmetic result.
- Incompatible measurement: no synthetic value is invented; the criterion records the limitation and uses only comparable fields.

- 1. Resolve the exact product
Model, generation, region and configuration are fixed before specifications are collected.
- 2. Normalize without inventing
Units can be converted, but unlike definitions such as per-leg and wearing weight stay visibly separate.
- 3. Compare within one use case
A consumer hiking device is not scored against an occupational support or regulated medical system.
- 4. Record uncertainty
Missing, conflicting or volatile evidence remains visible and can limit a verdict or ranking award.

Every product is evaluated against the same evidence hierarchy and use-case criteria. Rankings change only when new product, market, safety or field evidence justifies an update.
