Hip assistance can feel different from knee assistance on stairs, steep descents, running, or short steps. The assisted joint is one of the most useful first filters when comparing products.

- Confirm whether assistance supports hip flexion, extension or both.
- Check waist and thigh fit ranges plus frame-adjustment instructions.
- Separate continuous walking evidence from stairs, running and technical terrain.
- Compare device weight, battery location and shutdown behavior.
What it should not be confused with
Hip assistance is not knee stabilization and does not establish a medical mobility benefit. It describes where the device applies assistance, not the outcome a particular wearer will experience.
